A little quickie!

Get your minds out of the gutter!! If you are thinking what I think you are thinking, well you know me quite well :).  But actually, this is just a very quick little project that can be done if you need a quick gift for the holidays or any time.
I bought this fun, little clothespin at AC Moore for only $1.00.  It was painted and covered in a coordinating paper and then embellished with some holiday images I had on hand and a button with twine.  The hardest part of the whole thing was waiting for the paint to dry (I am such an impatient girl).  After deciding it needed something else, I added some of Gina's snowflakes (www.GinasDesigns.net), but I can't for the life of me find where I put those other pictures (unless...they are on my phone, which tends to be the land of the lost picture).

Anyways, my big tip of the day is to take the wire off that holds the clothespin together (oh so easy).  It makes for much neater painting and measuring, etc.  It is not difficult to put back on once you are completely done with the clothespin.  The big dilemma I had was trying to figure out whether to put the image upright like this or the other way because some people actually use their clothespins to hold bills and take-out menus and post it notes.  What do YOU think?

I plan to make a bunch of these for my local craft show.  I will work on them in the next few weeks INSTEAD of the LAUNDRY!!

I Was Told I Must...

I was told I must do this, so guess what??  I did create a blog INSTEAD of the LAUNDRY!!  Get it?  Much of the posts here will be the crafty things I gladly do as opposed to the chores of my other personality known as the BORED housewife and BOGGED DOWN homeschool mom!  So for my first post, here are just a few of the many, many, many, many creations I have completed in the last year (month? week? day?) INSTEAD of the LAUNDRY!
This little beauty is actually 3 layered pieces of art.  The bottom layer is an altered canvas. The middle layer is an altered Ikea mirror.  And, the third and final layer is another smaller altered canvas.  All of this because the owner of my LSS asked me to complete a project for her!

YES!!  Another little altered yard sale find!  This is an altered magnet board created for a secret pal of mine.  A bunch of us crafty girls went on an oh so fab mountain getaway to craft and eat and play!  We each had a secret pal that we showered with gifts all weekend.  This was the final gift that I hope she liked as much as I liked making it for her.
